Why WebCamp NJ?!

Over the past 15 years, both the web and our local community have changed dramatically. We love seeing the familiar faces who have joined us year after year, and we're also eager to bring in new insights and fresh energy from a broader community. After a lot of reflection and conversation, the organizers decided that, much like our Meetup group's name change years ago, the camp would benefit from a relaunch.

The name WebCamp NJ reflects what we've been doing all along: bringing people together to discuss ideas and move the web industry forward. Our content and audience have grown from a single technology focus to a much wider range of topics. Over the past five years, we've seen more and more web technologies represented at camp. We want attendees, speakers, and sponsors to know that while our roots are in Drupal, our future is in a web where we use the best tools and technologies for the job.

We hope you'll join us for the inaugural WebCamp NJ, March 11–12, 2027, in Princeton, NJ. If you've been with us over the years, the event will feel familiar, with a more inclusive view of what the web is today and what it can become. If you're new, you'll find a welcoming community that's excited to hear the ideas and perspectives you bring.
